In Southwest Florida there is no better inshore fishing than the pristine waters found in Charlotte Harbor and Gasparilla Sound. This vast area of shallow water with its mangrove islands, channels, bays, sounds and backcountry flats offer some of the best year round light tackle and fly fishing in the state. |
| Tremendous variety of fish are found in these waters Sandy concave areas found in these waters are know as potholes and are clearly seen on the grass flats. The excitement of seeing game fish such as Tarpon, Redfish and Snook in these shallow waters, sometimes even as they are about to feed on your bait, lure or fly is an unforgettable experience. A variety of other species are available such as Spotted Sea Trout, Jack Crevalle, Cobia, Flounder, Pompano, Grouper and Ladyfish to name a few. |
